How health insurance could help more than a thousand in Issaquah

issaquahThe arrival of affordable health insurance could make a big difference even in Issaquah, one of the best-insured cities in the state, because 8% of adults under age 65 still are uninsured. Thanks to Washington Healthplanfinder, residents now have a new way to find, compare and enroll in affordable health insurance plans. Enrollment runs through March 31st 2014 for coverage plans starting January 1st 2014.

An analysis by Public Health – Seattle & King County found that in Issaquah:

  • 1,568 people are uninsured, which is about 8% of the population
  • Of the uninsured, 246 people will be eligible for Medicaid through the expansion
  • Of the uninsured, 471 will be eligible for subsidies and tax credits through the Health Benefit Exchange
